Please keep the NFV healthy. It's taken many years to rid the soils from DDT poison used as a pesticide before I moved to Hotchkiss in 1971. Please keep oil & gas leasing on any Land out of this pristine area of CO.
I am a chef who cooks locally and requires pristine organic environments to source my food from, without these natural spaces, our food and balance of life are put in jeopardy.
Thank you [BLM] so much for taking our input. This means a lot to us, and the future of Colorado, for my son's generation, for his children and for generations to come. Please work hard to focus on harnessing renewable energy and we will be there to support you.
Please let us live in the valley we have chosen for our home free of fear of damages that have occurred in other areas of Colorado and in other states.
It is truly a little piece of heaven for so many citizens and visitors alike. [Oil and gas development] would destroy the local economy and a place that so many rely on for rest.
It's intangible value and real economic value to the people who live here is worth more than extracting everything you can from below the ground while you ruin everything above it. Please consider not leasing this area to development. There are conservation programs everywhere here that would pay to NOT develop the land.
Oil and Gas companies completely deplete and ruin the areas they operate in, and then they move on to spoil the next, and the next, and the next locations they use. This practice is not healthy for the land, the animals, or the people. Please, do not open our land to this. Please.
I am 3 yrs old and I hope to have clean water to drink as I grown and for my family.
There comes a time when the conscience of humanity has got to outweigh the greed of the rich as they abuse and exploit the 'poor' and the ignorant who work for them and continue to live a life style that is leading to our own demise! Stop already! Invest in renewable energy. Now!
As a small business owner who has brought over 500 families into the North Fork Valley for Agro- Tourism, I strongly oppose oil and gas leasing on public lands in the North Fork Valley. A No- Leasing alternative is the only responsible action to take until further environmental and economic impacts are evaluated.
As one of the founders of Revolution Brewing - Delta County's brewery, we are very concerned with anything that could possibly jeopardize the water. Please adopt a no-leasing alternative. It's important for our livelihood.
We are a community of independent people with different values and views that live together. While losing the coal mines we have found another way to make this valley economically sustainable with the organic healthy foods and products, along with the advancement of tourism. Allowing gas and oil production will only jeopardize this.
Time to do the right thing. The impacts are devastating and permanent for many lifetimes.
As a mother that very much loves to feed my children the best, most local, beautiful organic food, it would be absolutely heartbreaking to see this option come to an end. Especially for oil and gas.
Cannot believe [BLM] would spoil such beauty and threaten the ecosystem upon which we all depend.
We need land to give to our children someday, please think of them when you think of drilling on this beautiful land that has already given enough.
I work at our local food coop in Carbondale CO. Most of our fresh produce, vegetables, fruit and locally made food products come from the North Fork Valley. We as a family get all these things from Paonia as well. Please protect the valley.
